Dug out this pattern a couple of weeks ago......

and it sat with this pile of  2 1/2 inch scrap strips on my sewing table until yesterday afternoon.

They were joined by some yardage I dyed years ago, plus scraps of blue and green.

A while later, the first 10 inch bee hive was finished.   The leftovers from the yellow strips have gone in a pile for making the bees.

These 2 1/2 inch square scraps were yesterday's leader/ender pairs.   There's only a few squares left, which meant diving into the never ending scrap bin (quilters version of the never endung packet of TimTams, without the genie) and pressing a pile of scraps ready for cutting up tonight.  A couple more sorted piles appeared.  This time, enough to start a string quilt and another of weird shaped scraps which will feed the hexagon tins.
