RSC February fabrics

February's RSC color is teal.  After a good dig around, I found scraps of the four teals
In the stash.  It's just not a color I use much in quilts.

These are the first red scraps I pulled from the hunks and chunks bag.

I want a high contrast between the birds and the background.  The bottom red needs to be swapped out.  The teals will be skipped altogether.  The bottom one is fine, but the others are too light.  That's ok.  I'll just make the red ones this month.

I like the striped legs with this fabric, but it will be too much with busy fabrics.  I have a dark brown that i think will work. The green will be swapped out for a darker one.  Both will be the same for every block.  The bird's beaks will all be the same orange or yellow, too.  They'll (hopefully) pull everything together.  I love making kitchen sink quilts, with many different fabrics, but that won't work for this one.
